Series of joyful activities are planned in August to celebrate theauspicious birthday of nation’s beloved Queen Sirikit. Under the theme celebration, Ngan SilpKhong Mae, aninaugural activity will be a world-class concert from Kenny Rogers and Linda Davis. Other highlights include a musical fireworks extravaganza featuring 7 shows of 8,499 fireworks at the waterfront of Chao Phraya Riverat Bang Sai Royal Folk Arts and Crafts Centre in Ayutthaya during 12-14 August, exhibitions, fairs, performance, cultural shows concerts and the candlelight ceremony.

 

Bang Sai Royal Folk Arts and Crafts Centre together with leading corporations from public and private sector jointly organize a series of celebrations, themed ““Ngan SilpKhong Mae”(The Arts Creation by Her Majesty the Queen) In Honour of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit's84thAuspicious Birthday.  

 

The organizing committee of the event led by His Excellency Mr. TaninKraivixien, Privy Councillor and the Vice-Presidentof SUPPORT Foundation of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit of Thailand together with Prayoon Rattanasenee, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Governor, recently released details about the celebration activities at the press conference held at Siam Paragon. His Excellency Mr. TaninKraivixien said,“The collaboration from public and private sectorshows a strong commitment to celebrate the auspicious occasion.The organizing committee aims to launch the activities in order to honour Her Majesty the Queen’s effort to improve the living conditions of her subjects and revive the handicraft tradition of localities nationwide whichled tothe establishment of the of SUPPORT project.With series of activities, the organizing committee would like to invite visitors to participate the celebrationduring August 12th -14th at Bang Sai Royal Folk Arts and Craft Centre.”

 

Prayoon Rattanasenee, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Governor,said “Bang Sai Royal Folk Arts and Craft Center will be the venue center of the provincial celebration and the candlelight ceremony this year. The event will be attended by public and private sectors from Ayutthaya,     local Administration, together with institutions, associations, schools, local communities and many more.”

 

VinijLertratanachai, CEO of Fresh Air Festival Co Ltd said, throughout August 12th – 14th at Bang Sai Royal Folk Arts and Crafts Centre, celebrations and joyful activities will be opened to public free of charge.

 

“One of the ‘must-see’ shows is a musical fireworks extravaganza which will feature altogether 8,499 fireworks, a 12-minute show, at the waterfront of Chao Phraya River in Bang Sai. The show is produced by the international award winning fireworks producer from Japan.Thairath TV will conduct a live broadcast for the candlelight ceremony through its channel, 32HD, on August 12th at 20.00 hrs approximately or after alive broadcast of the Candlelight Ceremony by The Television Pool of Thailand.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Other activities in Bang Sai include:Her Majesty the Queen’s exhibitions demonstrating her royal duties; an exhibition of Her Majesty the Queen’s office, folk arts and crafts exhibition, handicraft workshops, Thai traditionalperforming arts,cultural shows, and concert from Thai singers namely: BieSukritWisedkaew, TakatanCholada and Kangsomtanatat.Moreover, there are more than 400 shops for visitors to enjoy a shopping activity in different zones include river market, Thai retro-style market (Ngan Wat), Thong Fahgoods and commodities fair by the ministry of Commerce, OTOP products, traditional food stalls and many more.

 

Meanwhile, there will be the world-class concert by Kenny Rogers to join the celebration.  The event will be held in the evening of August 9th at the Royal Paragon Hall. 

 

“The upcoming international concert is the event that is not to be missed. The world-famous singer, producer and writer will be performing his greatest hits songs together with his special gust, Linda Davis, to bid farewell to fans in Thailand at Kenny’s final world tour concert“The Gambler's Last Deal”. 

 

At the concert event, there will be an exhibition to honour Her Majesty the Queen and a charity auction to support the activities of Bang Sai Royal Folk Arts and Crafts Centre. One of the items to go on the auction is a special designed suit jacket with an autograph of Kenny Rogers. The suit jacket is designed by WisharawishAkarasantisook, talented Thai designer whose works were displayed overseas and have won a number of domestic and international awards.” said VinijLertratanachai.
