Siam Piwat Co., Ltd led Siam Synergy allies organizes the extraordinary food event named "Siam Food Festival", bringing Tuk Tuk,
the kingdom’s iconic three-wheelers to showcase various famous food dishes of Siam area for tantalizing your taste buds.

 

 

          "Thai food" is well known in every country in the world. To demonstrate the potential of Thai food and showcase the power of being the embodiment of the Siamese neighborhood, Siam area is not only the hub of Southeast Asia's fashion, but also destination of delicious Thai food that everyone would like to come and enjoy tasting food here. With this strength, Siam Synergy allies led by Siam Piwat Co., Ltd, the owner of Siam Paragon, Siam Center, and Siam Discovery, has collaborated with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to organize “Siam Food Festival”, which many highlighting activities such as stunt show with Tuk Tuk by Ong Bak team will be on display! Also, there will be a food festival bringing outstanding dishes of Siam area, including meat dishes, desserts, and a wide range of Thai fruits to show at the event. One of the highlights not to be missed is the iconic Tuk Tuk (three-wheels taxi) of Bangkok, Thailand will parade to showcase famous dishes of Siam area at Park Paragon, Siam Paragon, which the event will be held from July 7 to 10, 2017. The event is also co-supported by Kasikorn Credit Card, and Muangthai Insurance Plc.

            Mayuree Chaipromprasith, Senior Executive Vice President, Siam Piwat Co., Ltd, reveals that “Siam Food Festival” is a great activity that the company has co-hosted with the Amazing Thai Taste campaign of the Tourism Authority of Thailand aiming to promote the acknowledgement of Thai food, Thai rice, and Thai fruits to both Thai and international travellers. The event will gather the most popular dishes of Siam area at one place. The event is not only full with distinguished food dishes of Siam, including main dish, desserts, beverages, but also parade of Thai fruits and rice grains delivery directly from farm with a support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives will also be available at the event. Moreover, to impress all visitors, a parade of iconic Tuk Tuk of Bangkok will be brought and modified to show a wide range of food of Siam area at the festival. Each Tuk Tuk will be created and modified with students’ creativity from many universities, making this food festival one of the most must-visit event in Bangkok as representing the uniqueness of the Siam and Siamese blends perfectly.

Moreover, parade of leading restaurants from Siam Paragon, Siam Center, and Siam Discovery will also join, including Laem Charoen Seafood, Nara, Kangbanphe, Food Republic, My Kitchen, Sansab, Ta Too Noodle, Café Chili, and Homsuwan, which will bring their restaurants and special menu to the festival. Siam Paragon, Siam Center, and Siam Discovery will also join forces to provide special promotion for every visitor at the event.

            In addition, the event has also allocated space for art lovers, showing Tuk Tuks which have been created and painted by famous artists and celebrities of Thailand. The artworks are inspired by Thai food, Thai rice, and Thai fruits as major theme of the art exhibition. The 10 artists and celebrities are Jitsing Somboon, Somnuek Klangnok, Tube Gallery, Closet, P-Seven Art, Sombatsara Teerasaroch, Wasan Puengprasert, Prapakas Angsusingha, Prakarn Raiva, and Sopidnapa Chumpani.

            Somnuek Klangnok, artist and illustrator, said about his art work on Tuk Tuk that “If talking about Thai food, the first thing I can think about is Thai fruit. Thai fruit is a proud of Thailand. My work has been inspired from Thai fruits so I painted a woman wearing a traditional Thai dress in mangosteen striped as a representative of the event, while other fruits are also drawn such as durian, mango, and coconut. All of those are my favorite fruits so I used yellow color as background to enhance the brightness and prominence of Tuk Tuk."

            Jitsing Somboon, creative consultant, said that “I named my Tuk Tuk “Sweet Smile” as I would like to communicate to audience by sending smiles through Thai food, Thai fruits and Thai desserts. With easy way of communication through pencil drawings from the lighten tone to the darkness tone, this way of painting can tell about feel and tone of Thainess."

            Wasan Puengprasert, famous photographer, said that “As black and white are my favorite colors for photography, I used the gray scale technique which is a technique to color in black and white photography as an inspiration to paint Tuk Tuk from light grey to dark gray, and black stripes across the middle of Tuk Tuk. This makes the most distinctive Tuk Tuk, while can reflect our identity."

            Be ready for "Siam Food Festival" to be held from July 7 to 10, 2017. On Friday, July 7, Tuk Tuk parade will be released in front of Siam Paragon at 10.30 a.m. to promote the event to the public at many major attractions in Bangkok, encouraging Thais and travellers to join the food festival along four days.

            On Friday, July 7, at 5.00 p.m. at Park Paragon, Siam Paragon, a grand opening ceremony with a collaboration of Ong Bak show will be demonstrated at the event, while Thai superstar Mario Maurer and Mew-Nittha Jirayungyurn will also join the event to impress every visitor and promote the event with many fun-filled activities and special gifts.
