“Sasin” joins “MIT” to push new generation entrepreneurs to Thailand 4.0 by organizing a seminar for startup businesses “MIT Global Startup Workshop 2018”

 

 

Thai economy, in the era of Thailand 4.0 model, has been driven by the transformation from traditional farming to modern agriculture with the creation of farmers as entrepreneurs, the changing of traditional SMEs to Smart enterprises and the rise of efficient Startups. In order to drive the movement in the same direction, the country needs quality telecommunication and communication infrastructure to establish the connection of all related parties.


Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration of Chulalongkorn University has teamed up with Massachusetts Institute of Technology Global Startup Workshop (MITGSW) and MIT Association of Thailand to organize a workshop “MIT Global Startup Workshop 2018 and International Business Plan Competition” to increase the understanding about Startup business among entrepreneurs and interested people as well as different organizations, to help develop their potential in preparation for the Asean Economic Communities.


The workshop will feature seminars and forums of wide range of related topics presented by academics and experienced panel and keynote speakers such as Korn Chatikavanij, President of Thai Fintech Association and a former Finance Minister; Pita Limjaroenrat, Executive Director of Grab Thailand; Dr. Tiranee Achalakul, lecture from King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi; Ariya Banomyong, Managing Director of LINE Thailand; and several other experts, professionals and Startups from MIT, the United States and other countries.


The International Business Plan Competition will also be held to open a platform for students from countries across Southeast Asia to compete for the overall prizes worth over US$15,000. This annual workshop will be organized during 26th – 28th March, 2018 at Centara Grand at CentralWorld and at Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration of Chulalongkorn University.
