นางสาวขัตติยา อินทรวิชัย ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหาร ธนาคารกสิกรไทย เปิดเผยว่า กิจกรรมทางเศรษฐกิจของไทยในไตรมาส 3 ปี 2563 ทยอยฟื้นตัวอย่างช้า ๆ กลับมาบางส่วน หลังผลกระทบจากมาตรการปิดเมืองในช่วงการแพร่ระบาดของโควิด-19 คลี่คลายลง อย่างไรก็ดี ระดับกิจกรรมทางเศรษฐกิจในภาพรวมยังอยู่ต่ำกว่าช่วงก่อนโควิด-19 อย่างมาก โดยเฉพาะภาคการท่องเที่ยวและการส่งออกสินค้า ส่วนการใช้จ่ายของภาคเอกชนมีสัญญาณอ่อนแอต่อเนื่องท่ามกลางความเปราะบางของรายได้และภาวะการมีงานทำซึ่งลดทอนผลบวกจากมาตรการกระตุ้นของทางการขณะที่เศรษฐกิจไทยยังคงมีแนวโน้มหดตัวลงตลอดช่วงครึ่งหลังของปี 

ตั้งแต่วันที่ 1 มกราคม 2563 ธนาคารและบริษัทย่อยถือปฏิบัติตามมาตรฐานการรายงานทางการเงินที่เกี่ยวกับเครื่องมือทางการเงิน (รวมถึง TFRS 9) ซึ่งมีผลต่อการจัดประเภทรายการใหม่ การวัดมูลค่าสินทรัพย์ทางการเงินและหนี้สินทางการเงิน การตั้งด้อยค่าของสินทรัพย์ทางการเงิน และการบัญชีป้องกันความเสี่ยง รวมทั้งได้แสดงรายการในงบการเงินตามข้อกำหนดในประกาศธนาคารแห่งประเทศไทย ซึ่งงบการเงินและอัตราส่วนทางการเงินบางรายการไม่สามารถเปรียบเทียบได้กับปีก่อน   

ธนาคารและบริษัทย่อยมีกำไรสุทธิสำหรับงวด 9 เดือน ปี 2563 จำนวน 16,229 ล้านบาท และมีกำไรสุทธิสำหรับไตรมาส 3 ปี 2563 จำนวน 6,679 ล้านบาท 

ผลการดำเนินงานสำหรับงวด 9 เดือน ปี 2563 เมื่อเปรียบเทียบกับงวด 9 เดือน ปี 2562  ธนาคารและบริษัทย่อยมีกำไรสุทธิจำนวน 16,229 ล้านบาท ลดลงจากงวดเดียวกันของปีก่อนจำนวน 13,695 ล้านบาท หรือ 45.77% ส่วนใหญ่เกิดจากการที่ธนาคารและบริษัทย่อยใช้หลักความระมัดระวังอย่างต่อเนื่องในการพิจารณาสำรองผลขาดทุนด้านเครดิตที่คาดว่าจะเกิดขึ้น (Expected credit loss) เพิ่มขึ้นจากงวดเดียวกันของปีก่อนจำนวน 17,692 ล้านบาท หรือ 70.24% โดยการคำนึงถึงปัจจัยต่าง ๆ อย่างรอบคอบจากความไม่แน่นอนของสภาวะเศรษฐกิจที่หดตัวลงจากสถานการณ์การระบาดของโควิด-19 ประกอบกับมาตรการของทางการที่ให้สถาบันการเงินให้ความช่วยเหลือลูกค้าที่ได้รับผลกระทบ ทำให้ยังคงต้องมีการติดตามดูแลคุณภาพหนี้อย่างใกล้ชิด แม้ว่ารายได้ดอกเบี้ยสุทธิเพิ่มขึ้นจำนวน 5,301 ล้านบาท หรือ 6.87% ส่วนใหญ่เกิดจากการเติบโตของสินเชื่อ รวมทั้งการรับรู้รายได้ดอกเบี้ยและค่าธรรมเนียมรับเกี่ยวกับการให้สินเชื่อด้วยวิธีดอกเบี้ยที่แท้จริง (EIR) ซึ่งเป็นการปฏิบัติตาม TFRS 9  ประกอบกับการปรับลดอัตราเงินนำส่งกองทุนเพื่อการฟื้นฟูและพัฒนาระบบสถาบันการเงินลง และการลดลงของค่าใช้จ่ายดอกเบี้ยจากเงินรับฝาก เป็นผลมาจากอัตราดอกเบี้ยเฉลี่ยที่ลดลง ทำให้อัตราผลตอบแทนสินทรัพย์ที่ก่อให้เกิดรายได้สุทธิ (Net interest marginNIM) อยู่ที่ระดับ 3.34% นอกจากนี้ รายได้ที่มิใช่ดอกเบี้ยลดลงจำนวน 8,085 ล้านบาท หรือ 19.41% ส่วนใหญ่เกิดจากค่าธรรมเนียมรับเกี่ยวกับการให้สินเชื่อลดลงจากการเปลี่ยนไปแสดงเป็นรายได้ดอกเบี้ย และรายได้จากการจำหน่ายหลักทรัพย์ที่ลดลง สำหรับค่าใช้จ่ายจากการดำเนินงานอื่น ๆ ลดลงจำนวน 1,829 ล้านบาท หรือ 3.55% ส่วนใหญ่เกิดจากการลดลงของค่าใช้จ่ายเกี่ยวกับพนักงาน ค่าใช้จ่ายเกี่ยวกับอาคาร สถานที่และอุปกรณ์ และค่าใช้จ่ายกิจกรรมทางการตลาด ในขณะที่ค่าใช้จ่ายในการจัดการหนี้เพิ่มขึ้น ส่งผลให้อัตราส่วนค่าใช้จ่ายจากการดำเนินงานอื่น ๆ ต่อรายได้จากการดำเนินงานสุทธิ (Cost to income ratio) อยู่ที่ระดับ 42.87 

ผลการดำเนินงานสำหรับไตรมาส 3 ปี 2563 เมื่อเปรียบเทียบกับไตรมาส 2 ปี 2563 ธนาคารและบริษัทย่อยมีกำไรสุทธิจำนวน 6,679 ล้านบาท เพิ่มขึ้นจากไตรมาสก่อนจำนวน 4,504 ล้านบาท หรือ 207.01เกิดจากรายได้ดอกเบี้ยสุทธิเพิ่มขึ้นจำนวน 173 ล้านบาท หรือ 0.64% ส่วนใหญ่เกิดจากการลดลงของรายได้ดอกเบี้ยรับจากเงินให้สินเชื่อ และค่าใช้จ่ายดอกเบี้ยจากเงินรับฝาก ทำให้อัตราผลตอบแทนสินทรัพย์ที่ก่อให้เกิดรายได้สุทธิ (Net interest marginNIM) อยู่ที่ระดับ 3.17% ในขณะที่รายได้ที่มิใช่ดอกเบี้ยลดลงจำนวน 4,593 ล้านบาท หรือ 32.60% ส่วนใหญ่เกิดจากการปรับมูลค่ายุติธรรม (Mark to market) ของเงินลงทุน ซึ่งเป็นไปตามภาวะตลาด สำหรับค่าใช้จ่ายจากการดำเนินงานอื่น ๆ เพิ่มขึ้นจำนวน 651 ล้านบาท หรือ 4.12% ส่วนใหญ่เกิดจากการเพิ่มขึ้นของประมาณการค่าใช้จ่ายพนักงาน ส่งผลให้อัตราส่วนค่าใช้จ่ายจากการดำเนินงานอื่น ๆ ต่อรายได้จากการดำเนินงานสุทธิ (Cost to income ratio) ในไตรมาสนี้อยู่ที่ระดับ 44.75% นอกจากนี้ ธนาคารและบริษัทย่อยตั้งสำรองผลขาดทุนด้านเครดิตที่คาดว่าจะเกิดขึ้น (Expected credit loss) ลดลงจำนวน 9,377 ล้านบาท หรือ 46.44% หลัก ๆ เกิดจากในไตรมาสก่อนได้ตั้งสำรองผลขาดทุนด้านเครดิตที่คาดว่าจะเกิดขึ้น (Expected credit loss) ในระดับที่สูง จากการประเมินและเตรียมความพร้อมตามหลักความระมัดระวังอย่างต่อเนื่องเพื่อรองรับความไม่แน่นอนของสภาวะเศรษฐกิจที่หดตัวลงจากสถานการณ์การระบาดของโควิด-19 รวมถึงมาตรการของทางการที่ให้สถาบันการเงินให้ความช่วยเหลือลูกค้าที่ได้รับผลกระทบ 

ณ วันที่ 30 กันยายน 2563 ธนาคารและบริษัทย่อยมีสินทรัพย์รวมจำนวน 3,545,648 ล้านบาท เพิ่มขึ้นจากสิ้นปี 2562 จำนวน 251,759 ล้านบาท หรือ 7.64% ส่วนใหญ่เป็นการเติบโตของสินเชื่อ สำหรับเงินให้สินเชื่อด้อยคุณภาพต่อเงินให้สินเชื่อ (%NPL gross) ณ วันที่ 30 กันยายน 2563 อยู่ที่ระดับ 3.95% โดยธนาคารได้มีการติดตามให้ความช่วยเหลือ รวมทั้งควบคุมดูแลคุณภาพสินเชื่อของลูกหนี้ที่ได้รับผลกระทบจากโควิด-19 อย่างใกล้ชิด ขณะที่สิ้นปี 2562 อยู่ที่ระดับ 3.65% อัตราส่วนค่าเผื่อผลขาดทุนด้านเครดิตที่คาดว่าจะเกิดขึ้นต่อเงินให้สินเชื่อด้อยคุณภาพ (Coverage ratio) ณ วันที่ 30 กันยายน 2563 อยู่ที่ระดับ 161.12% โดยสิ้นปี 2562 อยู่ที่ระดับ 148.60% สำหรับอัตราส่วนเงินกองทุนทั้งสิ้นต่อสินทรัพย์เสี่ยงของกลุ่มธุรกิจทางการเงินธนาคารกสิกรไทยตามหลักเกณฑ์ Basel III ณ วันที่ 30 กันยายน 2563 อยู่ที่ 18.45% โดยมีอัตราส่วนเงินกองทุนชั้นที่ 1 อยู่ที่ 15.74%

MsKattiya Indaravijaya, Chief Executive Officer of KASIKORNBANK, said the Thai economic situation recovered slightly in the third quarter of 2020 in line with fading negative impacts from lockdown measures implemented during the COVID-19 pandemicHowever, overall economic activity remained weaker than pre-pandemic levels, especially in the tourism and export sectorsPrivate spending was still subdued amid concerns about income and employment, despite government efforts to relieve economic pressure to some extentGiven lingering uncertainties, the Thai economy will continue contracting in the second half of this year.   

Since 1 January 2020 the Bank and its subsidiaries initially adopted TFRS related to financial instruments (included TFRS 9which affect to classification, measurement of financial assets and financial liabilities, impairment of financial assets and hedge accounting.  In addition, the financial statements are prepared in accordance with the Bank of Thailand notification which some items are not comparable with the financial statements and key financial ratios of previous period. 

Operating performance for the nine-month period of 2020, KBank and its subsidiaries reported net profit of Baht 16,229 Million, and reported net profit of Baht 6,679 Million, for the third quarter of 2020. 

Operating performance for the nine-month period of 2020 compared with the same period of 2019, KBank and its subsidiaries reported net profit of Baht 16,229 Million, a decrease of Baht 13,695 Million or 45.77over the same period of 2019, mainly due to the fact that KBank and its subsidiaries comply continuous prudent approach to set aside higher expected credit loss from the preceding period of Baht 17,692 Million or 70.24with prudent consideration on factors from uncertainties of economic contraction from the COVID-19 pandemic together with government and institution measures to support customers affected by COVID-19 that the Bank has closely monitored asset quality, although net interest income increased by Baht 5,301 Million or 6.87mainly from loan growth and TFRS 9 revenue recognition concept which interest income and fees income related to loan shall be calculated by using effective interest rate method.  In addition, Contributions to Financial Institutions Development Fund (FIDFdecreased and interest expenses from deposits from customers decreased as a result of a decrease in average interest rate resulting in NIM that stood at 3.34%.  Moreover, non interest income decreased by Baht 8,085 Million or 19.41mainly due to fees income related to loan which change to reflect in interest income and revenue from sale of securities decreasedOther operating expenses decreased by Baht 1,829 Million or 3.55mainly due to employee expenses, premises and equipment expenses and marketing expenses, while debt management expenses increased, resulting in the cost to income ratio that stood at 42.87%.   

Operating performance for the third quarter of 2020 compared with the second quarter of 2020, KBank and its subsidiaries reported net profit of Baht 6,679 Million, an increase of Baht 4,504 Million or 207.01from the preceding quarter.  Net interest income increased by Baht 173 Million or 0.64mainly due to a decrease in interest income from loans to customers and interest expenses from deposits from customers, resulting in NIM that stood at 3.17%, while non interest income decreased by Baht 4,593 Million or 32.60mainly due to mark to market of investments according to market condition.  Other operating expenses increased by Baht 651 Million or 4.12mainly due to estimated employee expenses, resulting in the cost to income ratio that stood at 44.75in this quarter.  Moreover, KBank and its subsidiaries set aside lower expected credit loss by Baht 9,377 Million or 46.44%, mainly due to in the preceding quarter KBank and its subsidiaries set aside high level of expected credit loss from assessment and preparation complying continuous prudent approach to support uncertainties of economic contraction from the COVID-19 pandemic together with government and institution measures to support customers affected by COVID-19. 

As of 30 September 2020, KBank and its subsidiaries’ total assets were Baht 3,545,648 Million, an increase of Baht 251,759 Million or 7.64over the end of 2019, which the majority came from loans As of 30 September 2020, NPL gross to total loans stood at 3.95%, while at the end of 2019 this stood at 3.65%.  The Bank has closely monitored, provided support and assured credit quality for customer affected by COVID-19.  Coverage ratio as of 30 September 2020 stood at 161.12%, while at the end of 2019 this stood at 148.60%. In addition, as of 30 September 2020, KASIKORNBANK FINANCIAL CONGLOMERATEs Capital Adequacy Ratio (CARaccording to the Basel III Accord was 18.45%, with a Tier-1 Capital ratio of 15.74%.
