เข้าถือหุ้นในบริษัทผลิตบรรจุภัณฑ์อาหารที่มีเทคโนโลยีการผลิตชั้นสูง ตอบโจทย์ลูกค้าแบรนด์ระดับโลก
กรุงเทพฯ : 30 สิงหาคม 2562 - ธุรกิจแพคเกจจิ้ง เอสซีจี เดินหน้าเสริมขีดความสามารถในการเป็นคู่คิดด้านบรรจุภัณฑ์ครบวงจร เข้าถือหุ้นร้อยละ 80 ใน Visy Packaging (Thailand) Limited คิดเป็นมูลค่าประมาณ 4,341 ล้านบาท ซึ่ง Visy Packaging (Thailand) Limited ถือเป็นบริษัทชั้นนำของเอเชียที่ผลิตบรรจุภัณฑ์อาหารและผลไม้จากนวัตกรรมวัสดุที่ใช้เทคโนโลยีการผลิตชั้นสูง ทำให้ผลิตภัณฑ์มีคุณสมบัติทนความร้อนได้สูง ช่วยยืดอายุสินค้า และนำไปรีไซเคิลได้ ตอบรับความต้องการของแบรนด์ชั้นนำระดับโลก
นายรุ่งโรจน์ รังสิโยภาส กรรมการผู้จัดการใหญ่ เอสซีจี เปิดเผยว่า “ท่ามกลางความท้าทายจากความผันผวนของต้นทุนวัตถุดิบและพลังงาน ตลอดจนการแข่งขันที่สูงขึ้นในตลาด แต่ธุรกิจแพคเกจจิ้ง เอสซีจี ยังมีโอกาสจากอุตสาหกรรมบรรจุภัณฑ์ที่ยังคงเติบโตอย่างต่อเนื่องในภูมิภาคอาเซียนและอีกหลายภูมิภาคในโลก เอสซีจีจึงเดินหน้าตามกลยุทธ์เพื่อสร้างการเติบโตอย่างยั่งยืนในระยะยาว โดยล่าสุดธุรกิจแพคเกจจิ้งได้เข้าถือหุ้นร้อยละ 80 ใน Visy Packaging (Thailand) Limited จาก Visy Singapore Investments Pte. Ltd. ผู้ถือหุ้นปัจจุบัน ซึ่งเป็นบริษัทในกลุ่ม Visy Group คิดเป็นมูลค่าประมาณ 4,341 ล้านบาท โดยจะดำเนินการผ่าน SCGP Rigid Plastics Company Limited ซึ่งถือหุ้นร้อยละ 100 โดยธุรกิจแพคเกจจิ้ง เอสซีจี
“Visy Packaging (Thailand) Limited ถือเป็นผู้ผลิตบรรจุภัณฑ์คุณภาพสูงจากนวัตกรรมวัสดุเพื่อการบรรจุอาหาร โดยผลิตภัณฑ์ของบริษัทฯ มีทั้งถ้วย ถาด และขวดโหล ที่มีคุณสมบัติเฉพาะในการทนความร้อนได้สูง ช่วยถนอมอาหาร น้ำหนักเบา และสามารถนำไปรีไซเคิลได้ จึงเป็นทางเลือกที่ปลอดภัยกับผู้บริโภคแทนบรรจุภัณฑ์จากโลหะ อีกทั้งยังสามารถตอบโจทย์แบรนด์ระดับโลกที่ต้องการบรรจุภัณฑ์อาหารคุณภาพสูงในตลาดที่มีความต้องการเติบโต โดยเฉพาะในอาเซียนที่เป็นแหล่งผลิตอาหารและผลไม้ของโลกได้
การเข้าเป็นผู้ถือหุ้นหลักใน Visy Packaging (Thailand) Limited ครั้งนี้ จึงช่วยเสริมสร้างความแข็งแกร่งให้ธุรกิจแพคเกจจิ้ง เอสซีจี ทั้งในด้านการเติบโตของรายได้และการเพิ่มขีดความสามารถทางการแข่งขัน เพื่อตอบโจทย์การเป็นคู่คิดด้านบรรจุภัณฑ์ครบวงจรอย่างยั่งยืนในระดับสากลได้เป็นอย่างดี” นายรุ่งโรจน์ กล่าวสรุป
ทั้งนี้ เมื่อวันที่ 30 มิถุนายน 2562 Visy Packaging (Thailand) Limited มีรายได้จากการขาย 1,777 ล้านบาท โดยมีพนักงานทั้งหมดประมาณ 100 คน และสินทรัพย์ทั้งหมดประมาณ 2,010 ล้านบาท

Bangkok: August 30, 2019 – Packaging Business, SCG, with its continued efforts to increase its Packaging Solutions capabilities, has acquired 80% shares in Visy Packaging (Thailand) Limited, in the transaction valued at approximately 4,341 million THB. Visy Packaging (Thailand) Limited is Asia’s leading producer in food and processed fruit packaging from innovative materials using advanced production technologies. Its products’ unique features include high heat resistance, shelf-life extension, and recyclability that suits demand of leading brands worldwide.
Roongrote Rangsiyopash, President and CEO, SCG, explains that “amid the challenges of fluctuating raw materials and energy costs and higher competition in the market, Packaging Business, SCG, is still able to capture opportunities in the growing packaging industry that continues to thrive in both ASEAN and other parts of the world. SCG stays committed to its goal of building a long-term, sustainable growth. Recently, our Packaging Business has completed an 80% share acquisition in Visy Packaging (Thailand) Limited from Visy Singapore Investments Pte. Ltd., the current shareholder and a holding company within the Visy Group. This transaction is valued at approximately 4,341 million THB and will be processed via SCGP Rigid Plastics Company Limited, the Packaging Business’s 100% owned subsidiary.”

As of June 30, 2019, Visy Packaging (Thailand) Limited recorded revenue from sales of 1,777 million THB with a total of 100 employees and the total assets of approximately 2,010 million THB.
