กรุงเทพฯ, 7 กุมภาพันธ์ 2562 – ดุสิต อินเตอร์เนชั่นแนล ประกาศเตรียมความพร้อมเพื่อเปิดให้บริการโรงแรมดุสิตดีทู ไนโรบี ประเทศเคนยา หลังจากปิดชั่วคราวช่วงเหตุการณ์ก่อความไม่สงบในบริเวณ 14 รีเวอร์ไซด์ คอมเพล็กซ์ เมื่อไม่นานมานี้ โดยคาดว่าการปรับปรุงจะแล้วเสร็จพร้อมให้บริการอีกครั้งในเดือนมิถุนายน 2562
โรงแรมดุสิตดีทู ไนโรบี ตั้งอยู่บริเวณ 14 รีเวอร์ไซด์ คอมเพล็กซ์ ในย่านเวสต์แลนด์ ซึ่งเป็นแหล่งธุรกิจและศูนย์กลางการค้าที่สำคัญ เป็นที่ตั้งของสำนักงานต่างประเทศ ร้านอาหารและร้านค้าต่างๆ โดยเมื่อวันที่ 15 มกราคม 2562 คอมเพล็กซ์ได้รับผลกระทบจากเหตุการณ์ก่อความไม่สงบ ทำให้มีผู้เสียชีวิตรวมทั้งสิ้น 21 คน ซึ่งนับรวมถึงพนักงานประจำของโรงแรม 4 คน และพนักงานชั่วคราว 2 คน โดยลูกค้าของโรงแรมทุกคนปลอดภัยและไม่ถูกทำร้ายจากเหตุการณ์ดังกล่าว
ทั้งนี้ 14 รีเวอร์ไซด์ คอมเพล็กซ์ ได้กลับมาดำเนินธุรกิจอีกครั้งในวันที่ 28 มกราคม 2562 ด้วยความร่วมมือของผู้เช่าและเจ้าของธุรกิจที่ช่วยกันปรับปรุงพื้นที่ให้สวยงามเหมือนเดิม อีกทั้งยังมีการเพิ่มมาตรการรักษาความปลอดภัยที่ได้รับการรับรองในระดับสากลที่ช่วยเสริมประสิทธิภาพระบบที่คอมเพล็กซ์มีอยู่แล้ว
โรงแรมดุสิตดีทู ไนโรบี เปิดให้บริการครั้งแรกในเดือนตุลาคม 2557 นำเสนอสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกที่มีมาตรฐานในระดับสากลพร้อมการบริการที่ดีเยี่ยม และเป็นที่รู้จักเป็นอย่างดีในด้านรองรับธุรกิจไมซ์และสถานที่จัดงานเลี้ยงสังสรรค์ชั้นนำต่างๆ ในฐานะที่โรงแรมดุสิตดีทู ไนโรบี เป็นหนึ่งในศูนย์กลางอำนวยความสะดวกด้านธุรกิจที่สำคัญของไนโรบี ผู้บริหารและพนักงานทุกคนมุ่งมั่นที่จะเปิดให้บริการอีกครั้ง โดยมีแผนปรับปรุงและเพิ่มคอนเซ็ปต์ใหม่ของห้องอาหาร และจัดกิจกรรมให้ชุมชนได้มีส่วนร่วม เพื่อกลับมาเป็นศูนย์รวมแหล่งธุรกิจและไลฟ์สไตล์ของไนโรบีเหมือนที่เคยเป็นมา

dusitD2 Nairobi begins work towards reopening
Hotel to resume its function as a major business, leisure
and social hub with new dining concepts and an enhanced design.
Bangkok, 07 February, 2019 – Dusit International, one of Thailand’s leading hotel and property development companies, has announced it will reopen the dusitD2 Nairobi hotel at the heart of the 14 Riverside complex as an act of solidarity with the local community following the tragic events which recently took place at the complex.
Located in Nairobi’s exclusive Westlands neighbourhood, the 14 Riverside complex is a major commercial hub, housing numerous restaurants, shops, international offices and the dusitD2 hotel. The complex was targeted in an act of terror on 15 January 2019 which claimed the lives of 21 innocent people, including four full-time employees and two contract security staff of the hotel. No guests were harmed in the attack.
Demonstrating the resilience of the local community, the 14 Riverside complex has already sprung back into action with tenants and business owners returning to help to beautify the area. The office buildings re-opened on 28 January with additional security measures bolstering the internationally certified systems and procedures the complex already has in place.
dusitD2 Nairobi, which has been temporarily closed since the incident, is located at the far end of the project in a private location away from the main entrance. First opened in October 2014, the hotel is known for its world-class facilities, high standards of service, and status as a leading venue for MICE business and social and private events.
Recognising the hotel’s role as a major facilitator of business in Nairobi, the management and staff of dusitD2 Nairobi are determined to reopen the hotel as a beacon of comfort, convenience and safety so the 14 Riverside community can thrive once again. This includes enhancing the property, introducing new dining concepts, and planning a series of community events, ahead of a tentative relaunch in June.
