Magha Burami Si Prachin Festival at Kantary Hotel Kabinburi
Magha Burami Si Prachin Festival at Kantary Hotel Kabinburi
Cape & Kantary Hotels invites all tourists to experience the challenging and exciting white water rafting adventure along the waterway at “Kaeng Hin Pueng” in the midst of nature at the foot of Khao-Yai mountains when rivers are in spate, then retire for sweet dreams at Kantary Hotel, Kabinburi.
Cape & Kantary Hotels’ Kantary Hotel, Kabinburi General Manager Chaiyuth Utrakham, said, “Kantary Hotel, Kabinburi opened at the beginning of 2010 and Kantary 304 Hotel, a sister property opened more recently at the beginning of 2015. Café Kantary, Prachinburi branch, located in front of the hotel, has received positive feedback from target customers. We consider that, since Kabinburi in Prachinburi province is the location of many industrial concerns, employees working at such locations need long-term residences, whereas tourists are the market of short-term residences. So Prachinburi province can meet all their needs well.
“Prachinburi province was continuously inhabited from the Dhavaravati Kingdom to the Lopburi period. The civilisation had spread from Srimahosot to “Prachinburi” which is located at the waterfront of Bangpakong, so there are many tourist attractions and important historical sites, such as Tublan National Park, the last naturally grown palm forest in Thailand with its area covering 3 provinces: Prachinburi, Nakorn Ratchasima, and Buriram. Pang-Sida National Park, an important upstream forest covers areas in both Prachinbiri and Sa-kaew. Khao-yai National Park, the first national park of Thailand, covering 4 provinces: Saraburi, Nakornnayok, Prachinburi, and Nakornratchsima, has been designated “an ASEAN Heritage Park”. This tropical rain forest had also been called “Dong PhyaYen”. There are many waterfalls in several areas of such provinces, so you can take part in many activities such as white-water rafting or any rafting at Kaeng-Hin Pueng along a big, clear waterway which terminates in the Nadee District, where the stream flows into the River Prachinburi. The best season is from July to October.
“Besides the natural tourist sites, we recommend tourists visit the ancient town at Sri-Mahosot, a historic site where Buddha’s footprints are located; the oldest Bodhi tree in Thailand, over 2,000 years old; the Emerald pool; Chaopraya Abhaibhubejhr hospital (centre of Traditional Thai Medicine); Wat Kaeow Phichit (this ancient temple was built in the reign of King Rama V); the National Museum of Prachinburi; and Yusuksuwan museum (antique lamps and other artefacts). Wat Rattananet Taram, is located in Sam Phan Ta sub-district, Nadee district, The temple was beautifully decorated with sea shells from the beach by monks and novices. You can also choose to take some photos at Verona at Tublan,” Mr. Chaiyuth said.
“Also, on Buddhist Holidays such as “Magha Puja Day”, members of the Clergy, Government, Private sector and Thai people hold together the “Magha Burami Si Prachin Festival”, which is held every year at Sra Morakot Ancient City, Si Mahosot District. This year is the 32nd annual event. Magha Puja Day commemorates the date that 1,250 enlightened monks converged to pay respect to the Lord Buddha without any prior scheduling or pre-appointment. Each was ordained personally by the Lord Buddha. Apart from having monks on pilgrimage and practising Dharma at different temples at Ban Sang District, Muang Prachin District, Si Maha Pho District, and Si Mahosot District from February 22 – March 2, 2018, there will be a historic routes tour activity which will take you to famous historical landmarks such as Sra Morakot (the Emerald Pool), Bodhi Trees, the Sri Maha Bodhi Tree and Luangpho Dhavaravati by tram. Moreover, an ancient Thai market will be selling Thai food, traditional Thai desserts, and rare local Thai food there. Importantly, you can try your hand at making the Thai food and desserts yourself in this the festival. Finally, you can listen to Ovadhapatimokha Dharma and circumambulate clockwise three times in the Buddha’s footsteps.” added Mr. Chaiyuth.
Both hotels have professional meeting rooms that can comfortably accommodate 150 people. The attendees can spend time before or after meetings playing golf, or travelling to various places which offers a healthy boost to tourism in Prachinburi.
