จังหวัดสระบุรี เมืองหน้าด่านเชื่อมต่อระหว่างภาคกลางและภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ และถือเป็นอีกหนึ่งจังหวัดที่น่าท่องเที่ยว ทั้งในด้านพระพุทธศาสนาและทรัพยากรธรรมชาติที่ยังคงอยู่ เห็นได้จากการปลูกพืชไร่ของเกษตรกรและการทำนาบนพื้นที่ราบ โดยมีแม่น้ำป่าสักเป็นเส้นเลือดใหญ่ในการดำรงชีวิตของชาวสระบุรี รวมถึงมีทรัพยากรการท่องเที่ยวที่สำคัญในด้านโบราณสถานทางพุทธศาสนา ประวัติศาสตร์ ประเพณี ที่ยังคงคุณค่าไว้ได้อย่างครบถ้วน
ฟาร์มโคนมไทย – เดนมาร์ค นับเป็นอีกหนึ่งโครงการอันเนื่องมาจากพระราชดำริของพระบาทสมเด็จพระปรมินทรมหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดชฯ (รัชกาลที่ 9) และสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าฯ พระบรมราชินีนาถ ตั้งอยู่ใน อ.มวกเหล็ก จ.สระบุรี แหล่งท่องเที่ยวเชิงเกษตร เริ่มมาจากการที่พระองค์ทรงสนพระทัยในกิจการฟาร์มโคนมของชาวเดนมาร์ก และทรงเล็งเห็นว่าอาชีพการเลี้ยงโคนมนั้นน่าจะเกิดประโยชน์ต่อเกษตรกรชาวไทย รวมถึงจะได้ดื่มนมที่มีคุณค่าสูง ดังนั้น เมื่อพระองค์ทรงเสด็จนิวัติประเทศไทย รัฐบาลเดนมาร์กจึงได้ถวายโครงการส่งเสริมการเลี้ยงโคนมเป็นของขวัญแด่สองพระองค์ และทรงเสด็จฯ เปิดฟาร์มโคนมไทย – เดนมาร์ค เมื่อวันที่ 16 มกราคม 2505 ภายในฟาร์มนักท่องเที่ยวจะได้เรียนรู้ปรัชญาเศรษฐกิจพอเพียง รู้จักพืชพันธ์สมุนไพรไทย ชมสัตว์ในฟาร์มอย่างนกกระจอกเทศ อูฐ กวาง และม้าแสนรู้ พร้อมทดลองรีดนมวัวด้วยตัวเอง ป้อนนมลูกวัว รวมถึงร่วมสนุกไปกับการแสดงและกิจกรรมต่างๆ ของฟาร์มโคนมไทย – เดนมาร์ค

จากนั้นเดินทางกันต่อไม่ไกลจากร้านคาเฟ่ แคนทารี สระบุรี เพื่อไปที่ วัดพระพุทธฉาย ตั้งอยู่ใน อ.เมืองสระบุรี เช่นกัน เป็นที่ประดิษฐานพระพุทธฉาย (เงาพระพุทธเจ้า) เงาเลือนรางที่เป็นรอยประทับอยู่ที่หน้าผา เชิงเขา บริเวณวัดพระพุทธฉาย มีลักษณะคล้ายพระพุทธรูปยืน สันนิษฐานว่าค้นพบในสมัยพระเจ้าทรงธรรมแห่งกรุงศรีอยุธยา มีตำนานพระพุทธฉายโดยย่อว่า พระพุทธเจ้าเสด็จมาที่เขาฆาฏกะ(เขาพระพุทธฉาย) เพื่อโปรดนายพราน ฆาฏกะจนสำเร็จพระอรหันต์ ครั้นพระพุทธเจ้าเสด็จกลับ พระฆาฏกะได้ทูลขอให้ ประทานสิ่งอันเป็นอนุสรณ์ เพื่อกราบไหว้ พระพุทธเจ้าจึงทรงแสดงพุทธปาฏิหาริย์ให้เงาของพระองค์ติดอยู่ในเนื้อหิน ที่เงื้อมเขาพระพุทธฉายบรรพต ในบริเวณใกล้เคียงมีมณฑปประดิษฐานรอยพระพุทธบาทเบื้องขวา มณฑปหลังนี้สร้างขึ้นในสมัยสมเด็จพระเจ้าเสือ และมีต้นพระศรีมหาโพธิ์ที่อัญเชิญมาจากศรีลังกา โดยทุกปีจะมีงานนมัสการพระพุทธฉาย พร้อมงานนมัสการรอยพระพุทธบาทที่จังหวัดสระบุรี มีนักท่องเที่ยวและผู้ศรัทธาเดินทางเข้ามาอย่างไม่ขาดสาย
ก่อนปิดท้ายด้วยการชมความงามของ วัดป่าสว่างบุญ ที่สร้างขึ้นในปี พ.ศ. 2528 โดยหลวงพ่อสมชาย ปุญญมโน บนเนื้อที่ 400 ไร่ ติดเชิงเขา โดดเด่นด้วยพระมหาเจดีย์ 500 ยอด มีชื่อเต็มว่า "พระมหารัตนโลหะเจดีย์ศรีศาสนโพธิสัตว์สว่างบุญ" ซึ่งมีเจดีย์องค์ประธานเส้นผ่าศูนย์กลาง 50 เมตร มีทั้งหมด 9 ชั้น มีบริวาร 500 องค์ มีเจดีย์ประธานองค์ใหญ่อยู่ตรงกลาง และมีองค์เจดีย์รายองค์เล็กตั้งลดหลั่นกันลงมาอยู่รอบๆ ทิศ ทั้งประกอบด้วยซุ้มประตูทางขึ้นทั้งสี่มุม ทำเป็นบันไดขึ้นไปยังองค์เจดีย์ที่ตั้งอยู่ทางด้านบน ตัวองค์เจดีย์เป็นปูนปั้นรูปแบบสวยงามประณีตเคลือบสีทอง มีภาพพระธาตุเจดีย์สำคัญๆ ทั่วประเทศไทยประดับไว้ด้านบน ภายในองค์เจดีย์ได้อัญเชิญพระบรมสารีริกธาตุจากประเทศเนปาล อินเดีย ศรีลังกา และสาธุชน
มาร่วมบรรจุในพระมหาเจดีย์ครบทั้ง 500 ยอด รวมทั้งได้นำพระบรมสารีริกธาตุ วัตถุมงคล และของมีค่า มาบรรจุอยู่ในพระเจดีย์องค์ประธาน นอกจากนี้ยังมีสิ่งที่น่าสนใจอื่นๆ อีก อาทิ พระเจดีย์บรรจุพระบรมสารีริกธาตุ 84,000 องค์ อาศรมรูปทรงสถูปดับขันธ์ปรินิพพาน พระสัจจะเจดีย์ รวมถึงพระพุทธรูปที่มีความโดดเด่นทั้งพุทธลักษณะ และวัสดุการก่อสร้างจำนวนมาก ไม่ว่าจะเป็นพระพุทธรูปหินปางปรินิพพานยาว 10.59 เมตรที่สร้างด้วยหินชิ้นเดียวใหญ่ที่สุดในเมืองไทย พระพุทธมหาทานสว่างบุญ ปางเชียงแสนหนึ่ง หน้าตักกว้าง 109 นิ้ว ที่ประดิษฐานอยู่ในโบสถ์ พระพุทธรูปแกะหินหนัก 30 ตัน และพระยืนบนเขาพระหินทราย ฯลฯ ก่อนจะจบกิจกรรม “Green Trip with Café Kantary Saraburi” อย่างอิ่มบุญและอิ่มเอมด้วยความทรงจำดีๆ จากทริปนี้ ก่อนเดินทางกลับสู่กรุงเทพมหานครโดยสวัสดิภาพ

Moreover, there remain historical relics and sites, and a well-preserved local culture as valuable tourist attractions in Saraburi province.
The Thai-Danish Dairy Farm, one of the royal projects of King Rama IX and Queen Sirikit, is located in Muaklek district, Saraburi province. It is both a tourist destination and an agricultural training facility. Having acquired an interest in a dairy farming in Denmark, His Majesty, King Bhumipol Adulyadej (King Rama IX) foresaw a potential for this in Thailand. Following the Danish government’s gift of dairy cattle, on 16 January 1962, His Majesty officially established the farm. Activities for visitors on the Farm included a short video presentation of its history and how the farm has been run by applying the principles of His Majesty’s ‘Sufficiency Economy’; Thai herbal species are also exhibited; observe ostriches, camels and deer in the Farm’s zoo; learn how to milk a cow yourself; feed the calves and watch the skilful horsemanship of the herders and so on.

Not far from the Café is Wat Phra Buddha Chai, similarly located in the Muang District. It is the site of the “Phra Buddha Chai” or “Shadow of The Lord Buddha’s Image”, which is right on the cliff-face where this temple is located. It has a shape of a standing Lord Buddha. It is said that the “Phra Buddha Chai” dates from The Lord Buddha’s visit to Ayutthaya. According to the folk tale, The Lord Buddha visited “Kataka” Mountain to teach a wild hunter named Kataka until he attained enlightenment as an Arahan (Buddhist saint). Before The Lord Buddha left, the hunter asked him for a sign or artefact to be worshipped so The Lord Buddha decided to perform a miracle by sealing his shadow to the rock of the cliff of Kataka Mountain. In the area, not only was a structure built for the right footprint of The Lord Buddha in the era of King Sua, but also a Bodhi Tree was brought from Sri Lanka. Since then, there has been an annual festival to worship the Phra Buddha Chai and Footprint of The Lord Buddha, attracting large numbers of tourists and believers.
After that we rounded off a one day “Green Trip” by visiting Wat Pa Sawang Bun. It was wonderful to have the chance to take in the beauty of this temple, built on a 400 rai area in 1985 by Monk Somchai Punyamano and decorated with 500 Golden Pagodas. The overall size of the pagoda is 50 metres in diameter, 9 storeys high with 500 small golden pagodas. The main Pagoda, neatly covered in gold and decorated with photos of important pagodas from all parts of Thailand, stands in the middle of the building with smaller ones surrounding it. There are 4 entrances, one for each of 4 directions, with stairs for people to climb to the top of the main Pagoda. which holds Buddha relics from Nepal, India, Sri Lanka and private
owners, as well as other sacred and valuable items. Relics are also stored in all 500 Pagodas. There is even a pagoda containing 84,000 Buddha relics. In the adjacent pavilion, there is a 10.59 metre-long lying Buddha image the biggest one in Thailand made of a single piece of rock; the Phra Buddha Mahatharn Sawang Bun Pang Chiang Saen Nueng Sitting Buddha Image with a lap 109 inches (2.76 metres) wide; and a 30-ton carved rock Buddha Image. Outside the pavilion, there is a standing Buddha Image on the sandstone mountain. Reluctantly, we left this temple and returned safely to Bangkok to conclude our “Green Trip with Café Kantary Saraburi” with countless wonderful memories.
